The Wait is Over: Backcountry Savant Jake Blauvelt's Two-Year Project, "Naturally," Has Arrived

fb cover story 1

It took two years of searching and filming, but Jake Blauvelt finally has the project he wants. After all the strike missions and heli drops, long flights and failed weather projections, injuries and rehabilitation, Blauvelt and Friday Productions finally get to share “Jake Blauvelt: Naturally” with the global snowboarding community.

“When I was growing up I’d watch video parts of Terje [Haakonsen] and Devun Walsh, Nicolas Müller, seeing what they were doing with their video parts, just all backcountry, hitting powder off jumps,” Blauvelt recalled. “It’s what I liked to watch; it’s what I wanted to do. And that’s what this project was meant to showcase and represent.

“Oakley has always supported my vision of backcountry riding 100 percent, and having them back my passion and the whole ‘Naturally’ project was a game changer,” Blauvelt continued. “Oakley gets it – the Zen of backcountry riding and what it teaches you every day you’re out in the mountains."

The project comes to life beginning tonight at an invite-only world premier at Oakley HQ, but will be immediately followed by a world tour that will stretch into October. Check out the last teaser below and find a screening near you.
