Highly touted as one of the best skiers on the planet, Oakley athlete Simon Dumont will host the 4th Annual Dumont Cup this weekend at the Sunday River Resort in the mountains of Newry, Maine. Originally created to showcase some of the best skiers in the New England area, the Dumont Cup has quickly turned into one of the most highly anticipated ski competitions of the year. The unique event allows for both amateur and professional skiers from around the world to display their skills at the highest level. Further proving its importance, this year the Dumont Cup has been elevated from gold to platinum status by the Association of Freeskiing Professionals (AFP).

Norwegian Metal: Snowboard Star Stale Sandbech Claims Overall TTR World Snowboard Tour Title, Video Edits Drop
The Scandinavians already knew Stale Sandbech as the ‘heir apparent’ to Norwegian Snowboard Royalty. But few actually thought he’d claim the coveted TTR World Snowboard Tour Title so soon – and at such a young age. Including Stale, himself. “I wasn’t really going for it at the start of the season, but then I was leading and thought ‘wow’, maybe I can actually do this!” he said, rocking his Oakley eyewear, apparel and gear. “Now at the end, it was exciting ’cause I didn’t qualify for today – But it is really cool to be part of that legendary list of riders who won it before.” The easygoing ripper is known just as much for having as much fun as anyone – just riding on the tour. But despite his super friendly, typically Norwegian demeanor, Stale’s riding did the fierce talking for itself.

A day after completely dominating the Men’s Snowboard SuperPipe event in France, Shaun completed the back-to-back gold medal performance, taking the top spot in the Slopestyle event for the first time since 2009.

Bienvenue en France! Shaun White Takes Men’s Snowboard SuperPipe Gold In Winter X Games Tignes Debut
Welcome to France! Oakley snowboard icon Shaun White dominated the Men’s Snowboard SuperPipe in his first visit to the Winter X Games Tignes. It didn’t take long to for Shaun to secure the gold medal, scoring a 98 in his first run; a super smooth run that included a switch cab double cork, a double McTwist 1260 and an alleyoop rodeo to close it out. His near perfect score set the tone for the day and none of the competitors came close to challenging Shaun’s position on the leaderboard.

Three-Peat…Again! Kaya Turski Wins Her Third Consecutive Winter X Games Women’s Ski Slopestyle Gold
Twenty-three year old Canadian, Kaya Turski kick started the 2012 Winter X Games Tignes with a gold medal victory. The young Oakley rider was the first ever to three-peat in Winter X Slopestyle, which she accomplished in January in Aspen. Her win in France made her the first ever athlete to DOUBLE three-peat at two X events. Kaya had previously won the Slopestyle gold at the Winter X Aspen Games from 2010-2012 and now she has claimed the top spot for the past three years at Winter X Games Tignes as well.

Fourteen-year-old Huntington Beach, CA sensation Kanoa Igarashi proved an instant success as the newest member of the Oakley surf team. Kanoa teamed up with Oakley in early 2012 and won his career first ASP Pro Junior event, the ASP 1-Star DNA Energy Pro Junior at New Smyrna Beach Inlet in Florida over the weekend.

Oakley Skier Pep Fujas Returns To Action With A Second Place Finish At The Red Bull Cold Rush
In his first ever big-mountain event, Oakley skier, Pep Fujas scored BIG points in the Red Bull Cold Rush competition held in Silverton, Colorado. Pep was returning to competition for the first time in “five or six years” when he snagged second place in the three-day backcountry freeskiing competition. The event is peer judged and includes a variety of events such as Slopestyle, Big Mountain and Cliffs.

“It’s Wrapped Up!” Lindsey Vonn Wins Her Fourth World Cup Ski Title
Lindsey Vonn continues to prove her status as American ski royalty. Adding another award to her expanding trophy case, Lindsey secured her fourth overall World Cup title, becoming the first American to achieve this feat. Phil Mahre had been the only previous American to win three overall World Cup titles; Lindsey is now in a league of her own.

Matt Banting is over the moon. He said it himself. Oakley’s young surf team standout dazzled the massive crowds on his home turf at the first-ever Inaugural Australian Open of Surfing at Manly Beach late February, claiming victory in the Pro Junior Division over Tim Macdonald, then emerging triumphant in the 6-Star Contest just a day later.
