    Oakley athletes were on a rampage on the final day of Winter X Games 15, raking in another eight medals and bringing the final Oakley medal count to an impressive 20 Winter X Games medals. “This was a fantastic X Games for the Oakley Brand,” said Pat McIlvain, Oakley Sports Marketing VP. “Led by an incredible athlete team laying it on the line, our exposure and brand leadership was at all time high. With our sponsorship and commercials, we had the ability to communicate a stronger brand message to a much wider audience.”

Oakley’s global icon Shaun White, the previous winner of three straight SuperPipe Golds, added yet another to the collection on Sunday – as his monster 97.33 second run sent shock waves through a record Winter X 15 crowd. Smashing a backside air, front double cork 1080, cab double cork 1080, a front-side stale-fish 540, a double mctwist 1260 (surprise trick) and an alley-oop backside rodeo – Shaun ensured that none of his closest rivals were able to touch his score.

A record Winter X Games crowd…and each and every one of those on hand was electrified by the enormous runs busted out by Oakley ski ripper Alex Schlopy, whose top score of 92 landed him the Ski Big Air Gold in his first-ever appearance at Winter X. His killer switch double cork 14 and a double cork 16, tricks he’d never done before Winter X 15, proved to be unbeatable – taking out last year’s Gold Medalist Bobby Brown.

But Oakley’s Star Skier more than stepped up to the plate, throwing down a rail section 270 joystick grab, kangaroo flip, double rodeo 900, double flat 900 and a double cork 1080 in his first run to secure his first Gold in the event.

    It’s never been done at Winter X. But Oakley’s Torstein Horgmo busted out a huge triple cork in the Snowboard Big Air Contest, dazzling the amped up crowd on hand and grabbing the Gold medal. Youngster and X Games rookie Sebastien Toutant’s score of 79 was just a single point behind Torstein’s 80.

Oakley Snowboard Stars Shaun White, Kazuhiro Kokubo and Matt Ladley threw down big time at the Snowboard SuperPipe Elimination on Thursday night, advancing and setting the stage for what’s sure to be an epic, Oakley-laced final event on Sunday evening at Winter X Games 15. O’s high-powered crew was lead by none other than Shaun himself, whose back-to-back double-cork 1080s on his first of two laps took the night’s top score of 92.00…all in his newly unveiled, signature-series ‘Airbrake’ goggles.

Fellow Oakley girl Grete Eliassen ripped her way to her second Bronze medal in Winter X Slopestyle after racking up a score of 93.00.

    Oakley’s Media night has become synonymous with the kick-off of Winter X Games and this year the brand took the event to a whole new level. The day began with an opportunity for select media to hit the slopes with Oakley skiers Tanner Hall and Seth Morrison. Journalists from “Outside,” “Transworld SNOWboarding,” “Aspen Magazine,” The Sports Network and Aspen TV gathered on Assay Hill outside the Viceroy to select goggles from the Oakley goggle bar. Tanner, Seth and Oakley snowboarder Jake Blauvelt spoke about their favorite lens to help media make their selections. With everyone outfitted in their new goggles the group took off and made the most of the blue bird afternoon in Snowmass.

The eventual winner will be picked by more than 100 pro riders – his peers. But Transworld wants to get a gauge of what you the fans think about who will emerge victorious.

    A ‘Super G’ indeed she is. Oakley Ski Star and Olympic Gold Medalist Lindsey Vonn mashed her way to victory at the Super G in Cortina, Italy today. O’s speedster came off the line in the 20th position, but led at every split and crossed the finish line with a time of one minute, 11.66 seconds to beat second-place finisher Anja Paerson of Sweden by 0.43 seconds. The triumph tallied her 38th win, fifth victory of the season and second in a Super G. Lindsey also climbed 71 points closer to overall World Cup leader Maria Riesch of Germany (finished ninth), who currently owns a 1052 to 927 advantage.

    Eero Ettala is psyched. Oakley’s Finnish Snowboard Star just landed the front cover of Europe’s prominent Onboard Magazine. But even better: the shot captured the essence of his being – featuring key elements of his hometown, Helsinki. From the so-called “Church of Doom” (we don’t know why they call it that) to the infamous “booze cruise” boats that ship partiers from the Finnish city to Stockholm, Sweden, the sweet photo reflected the core of who Eero is…and where he’s from. And some Oakley love, of course.

    The progression continues. And as always, Oakley is at the forefront. O chargers Henrik Harlaut and Phil Casabon displayed it to the fullest in the latest episode of the B&E Show. The fifth edition, entitled “the Medicine,” has our two shredders romping through Switzerland, Sweden, Norway, Utah and Colorado – unveiling urban tranny’s and spots that have been mostly untouched by the skiing world to express their creativity. With the possibility of free skiing at the Olympics looming, the crew sees this as a “movement, inspired, as a cure to skiing’s future in it’s purest form…that may change a lot of the perception and clientele that will be brought upon the sport.”

Snowboarder Magazine’s formidable collection of beautiful rippers, lead by Oakley’s own Chanelle Sladics and friends, will be delivering webisodes every other week – called “One Life Wednesdays.” And you’ll be able to watch them right here on The lively videos will bring you right into the “One Life” World: Competitions, film trips, the girls teaching people to ride powder and diving into the local cultures of destinations they shred. What’s more, the green-aware crew is always looking to find ways to leave a positive environmental footprint on everywhere they visit…an idea that will find its way into every webisode. Well Blake Jorgenson was on the road again – with the Big O – capturing some of the sickest images of our riders as they ripped for an Oakley documentary on our very own Seth Morrison in Retallack, BC. His first shoot of the year had him romping around with Seth and Sean Pettit filming for “Seth Morrison – The Ordinary Skier,” coming out next fall. And as always, there were some amazing shots. Oakley Ski Star and Olympic Gold Medalist Lindsey Vonn smashed the downhill Kaelberlock course in Altenmarkt-Zauchensee, Austria this past Saturday in 1 minute, 46.39 seconds – claiming her fourth victory of the season and pushing to within four victories Anja Paerson’s 41 World Cup title record. O’s speedster veered off course in a sharp right turn but recovered to nab her 20th career downhill title and 37th overall triumph.

    The Slopestyle finals at the O’Neill Evolution in Davos was a showdown of 12’s. But it was Oakley’s Seb Toutant’s cab double cork 12 melon that owned the competition and landed him the Slope title at the spirited event – which was dominated by the youngsters throwing down and raising the bar for the future of the sport. One of those other youngsters: Oakley teammate and fellow Canadian Mark McMorris, whose cab double cork 12 (super steezy) nose and bs 540 bonk on the pole rail after a big bail in his first final run, had him grab the runner-up spot.

    Is any other Transworld Snowboarding video even close? Nope. Shaun White’s Double McTwist 1260 video – which was captured at a Grand Prix practice session on Jan. 22, 2010 – shook the Snowboarding World. Oakley’s Global Snowboarding icon threw it down right before the Winter Olympics, where he bagged the Pipe Gold with that very trick, of course (which ripped a hole in the O-zone layer itself…with the insane video views from everywhere). It’s no surprise that the original video took the very top honors for Transworld Snowboarding’s Top Ten Most Viewed Videos Of 2010. No. 1 with no question.

Transcending his sport, he’s not only one of the best Skate and Snowboard athletes on the Planet, he’s a Global Ambassador for his sport, the center of his own awesome video game and a natural in the bright lights, red carpets and glamour that is the entertainment industry (and the “Chairman of the Board” of Spike TV’s 2010 Guy’s Choice Awards to boot). But let’s get back to the core of it all. He is where he is because of one indisputable fact: Shaun White is just a ridiculously sick athlete.
