Jake Blauvelt has long been devoted to progressing what is possible on his snowboard. From his early days on hill as a Vermont contest local, Jake has consistently pushed himself to find a path that is true to his identity, his unique personality and his dreams. That path has taken him from icy park jumps to powder turns; from podiums to heli drops – and he has continued to improve and evolve with every step.
Jake announced himself to the snowboarding community when he came out of nowhere to win the 2004 U.S. Open at just 17-years old. He turned more heads a few years later when he nearly set a world record at the 2007 Arctic Challenge. It wasn’t long after that feat that he took a step back from the contest scene to focus his sights on the backcountry.
Jake pushes the limits of snowboarding and travels the world in search of new challenges, perfect snow and the pursuit of happiness. The past couple years of these pursuits have been well documented between “Blauvelt’s Backcountry” in 2010 and his new signature film, “Jake Blauvelt: Naturally.”
