Tejay van Garderen

Pro Since 2007
25 Age USA

Tejay Van Garderen is an American born road cyclist who is highly regarded as the face of US cycling.

The youngster made a major name for himself in the 2012 Tour de France, where he was selected to pace and support teammate and defending Tour champion Cadel Evans. However, over the course of the 21-stage race, Van Garderen emerged in his own right, earning the white jersey en route to a strong fifth place finish.

Van Garderen showed no signs of slowing down in 2013.  Labeled the 2013 Tour of California favorite, he lead the BMC Racing Team through a grueling eight-day, 750-mile course. Van Garderen proved more than up for the task, conquering 120⁰ degree weather to win the overall classification and guide his team to a classification win.  With his win at the 2013 USA Pro Challenge a few months later, it is clear Van Garderen is no longer a phenom, but a solidified star.

2013 marked yet another major milestone for Van Garderen, as he and his wife Jessica welcomed their baby daughter Rylan into the world.
