“Smoke” has been making an impact in the motorsports world and leaving people in his track dust for more than a decade – gracing multiple four-wheel disciplines and grabbing major hardware in each one of them.
From titles in the IRL IndyCar Series, NASCAR, midget cars, sprint cars to USAC Silver Crown, there’s no disputing that Tony is one of the most prolific figures in American racing history.
No other racer has dominated their way to a NASCAR Championship through the series’ many title sponsor phases demonstrating his longevity through a couple of generations. From Winston (2002), Nextel (2005) to Sprint Cup (2011), Smoke’s series crowns have been equally impressive throughout the years.
Now racing while presiding as the head of his own Stewart-Haas Racing team, Smoke hasn’t lost his touch on the track – becoming the first owner-driver since Alan Kulwicki to claim a Cup Series Title with his triumph in 2011.
Despite his tense relationship with the media, Tony’s everlasting talent in ‘going fast’ and his stellar treatment of fans has made him both one of the most decorated and intensely followed racers in the United States and abroad.
