Ouch That Hurt! It Could Have Been Worse
Flat tire. No helmet. Rapidly approaching pavement. This was Rob Gaulke’s recipe for disaster.
“I was in a group ride on my road bike when I got a flat front tire on a turn. I went down hard and fast on my left side.”
He didn’t have time to respond.
“Once my body hit the ground, it drove me into the pavement. My face skidded. My M Frame™ sunglasses were pretty much destroyed, but I didn’t get any ‘road rash’ on my face. The lenses prevented my eye from getting scratched.”
Several stitches later, Rob pledged his allegiance:
“They saved my face. I would never wear anything but Oakleys.”
