Golf Tournament with the Pros Wrapup.

Scott Niedermayer and Ice Lions

Like a slapshot, the Inaugural JSerra Ice Lions Golf Tournament in Newport Coast, California took off with speed. The Joe DiPenta/Bernie Nicholls 4some lead the 5-hour golf round by taking the overall lowest score and being awarded the first JSerra Golf Tournament Cup. All golfers were provided an Oakley gift bag containing a Polo shirt, Visor and a pair of Polarized Straight Jackets®.

Current and former Anaheim Duck players at the event included Scott Niedermayer, Chris Pronger, Joe DiPenta and Dave Karpa.
Former LA King players at the event included Jim Fox, Ian Turnbull, Dave Taylor, Marty McSorley and Bernie Nicholls.

After the golf outing, the JSerra Ice Lion players greeted guests arriving at the nearby Island Hotel in Newport Beach. A cocktail hour reception allowed golfers and non-golfers to meet the pro’s and bid for many silent auction items. Ice Lion’s Matt Blanchart and Dave Pauluzzi welcomed 80 guests at the 3-course dinner which included a short video presentation about the JSerra Ice Lions being the first High School Ice hockey team in Southern California. During dinner, a NHL hockey talk MC’d by Anaheim Ducks Brian Hayward and John Ahlers included questions for the pro’s.

Oakley sponsored the events golf hole #16 (par 3 – 143 yards) and awarded Tim Lefort an Oakley Minute Machine™ watch for closest shot to the pin. Anaheim Ducks Play by Play announcer John Ahlers received a Nordstrom’s gift card for the events longest drive.

Special thanks to the Oakley team that supported this event:
Pat McIlvain, Ryan Brierley, Liam Barrett, Janet Schnitzler and Kelly Dugan.
