7th Annual Dirty South

There is nothing quite like the south, or excuse me the Dirty South, with amazing hospitality provided by Jason Aronson and his crew, Oakley’s 7th Annual Dirty South Pro/Am went down without a hitch.

Oakley’s presence was truly impressive with the Rolling O Lab set up in two locations: the R&D portion was set up at the clubhouse for demo tours and to host the Custom Flak Jacket Bar, and the party portion was put to good use on the 18th tee box for the Patron Girls to hand out shots. Branding surrounded the clubhouse, flag pins, logos in the bunkers, POP on the tee boxes and Oakley beer served up at the bar. And to top it off, just newly purchased, Jason has his own Oakley MX rig fully wrapped with the blue and grey “”http://oakley.com/search/flying+tiger" target="_blank">Flying Tiger" artwork.

Things got underway at 1pm with 134 competitors playing on the beautiful Black Creek Golf Course. Host to the Nationwide Tour this October; Black Creek is truly a special place in the heart of Chattanooga. The competitors ranged from various accounts – MX / Wake / Ski / Snowboard / Optometrists / Opticians and top Southeast PGA Pros.

The course played tough with varying windy conditions and a number six pin placement, which is arguable the toughest pin placement at Black Creek. After five hours of some really solid golf, things culminated with a fabulous southern dinner topped off with banana pudding as the closer. Jason and his crew handed out many great prizes, from a signed Titans helmet by Vince Young to Thump Pros. In the end local boy (Chattanooga), Josh Coley turned in the lowest winning score in Dirty South history with a 67 to take home the title!

“We could not be happier with the outcome for this year’s Dirty South event,” said Oakley Sales Rep, Jason Aronson. “From the exposure, to the course, to the weather, to the turn out, to the local boy taking home the title… Oakley could not be stronger in the south.”

As always many people need to be thanked, but at the top of the list are Jason, his beautiful wife Tracy, Chris Long, Mark and Scott Szanti, Ryan Evert and the Rolling O Lab Crew, and the amazing staff at Black Creek for letting us play at their course.
