Oakley unveiled its newest technology, the O ROKR PRO, at a special launch event at the Oakley O Store at Water Tower Place on Michigan Avenue Friday night.

Oakley’s three-time World Champion Emma Snowsill and fellow triathlete Craig Walton came in for their first look at Oakley’s Ultimate Training Tool—the O ROKR PRO.

The 26 year-old Australian who currently resides in Boulder, CO said she’s excited to incorporate the eyewear into her training routine. “I love my Thumps,” she said. “But I can’t wait to use the O ROKR PROs.”

Chicago media and the general public were invited to the listening station to learn about the O ROKR PRO’s Motorola Bluetooth and MP3 capabilities through Oakley’s educated Electronics Team and to try on the eyewear, which will be available for purchase later this fall.

The DJ was spinning, the beer and wine flowed and Giardano’s famous stuffed pizza kept the O Store packed until 10 p.m.

As the Official Eyewear of the 2007 Accenture Chicago Triathlon, the launch party was the perfect kick-off to the world’s biggest triathlon.

Snowsill, wearing her Oakley eyewear, crossed the finish first, in 1 hour, 59 minutes, 45 seconds—one of the best female finishes in the event’s 25-year history.
