Vision East 2007

First things first. You take the Rolling Lab and bring it to one of the busiest cities in the world. Not an easy task by any means. Where to park it? Thanks to the Rolling Lab crew, we secured a sick spot for it – none other than the lobby of the Javits Center, a massive convention center housing the Vision East Expo, a tradeshow featuring all things eyewear and eyecare. What better place for us to open up shop and welcome the hundreds of people coming through the doors to see what goes into our eyewear versus many of our competitors, thanks to our commitment to HDO.

Where to start? So many influential and high profile visitors came through the Lab that there was literally a line to take the tour on more than one occasion.

Some of the top media visitors were:
The Today Show
Women’s Health
Marie Claire
Men’s Journal
Oprah Magazine
Women’s Wear Daily
Vision Care Product News

We are excited to see what great exposure will come from these meetings. Not one of these visitors left questioning Oakley’s optics. In fact, Mike Roberts from Outside Magazine walked out of the Lab and the first thing out of his mouth was "I’m scared to walk outside and put on my sunglasses now!" He also mentioned he would be thinking about it for the rest of the day, as the presentation had made such an impact on him.

In addition, yesterday afternoon over 50 NYPD officers who came by to see the HDO presentation swarmed the Lab. Photographers from the Expo were snapping shots left and right of the men in uniform standing in front of the Lab with the Oakley signage in the background. It was a great way for Oakley to showcase its products to New York’s finest.
