Rolling O Salutes the Marines at the Grand Opening of the MCX

On September 8, 2011, the Rolling O lab set up shop outside of the MCX at the 29 Palms military base. The grand opening of the superstore sported vendors of all types where America’s finest poured in to pick up goods of all kinds. Outside the front door, the Rolling O Lab was there to greet the Marines and their loved ones demoing the latest eyewear using ANSI Z87.1’s standardized tests. With the impact protection providing the awe factor, service members were enthused to share their stories of how Oakley’s had saved their sight. As service man Ty Spackler bravely put it, “We were driving on patrol and an explosion went off and sent me from the back of the Humvee head first to the front dash. I got a little cut on my face, but I walked away being able to see.”

Still fired up from the tours, many Marines walked straight into the store to pick up their new pair of shades. The Oakley section provided three showcases filled front to back with all the latest and greatest eyewear. The event provided a great venue for an awesome day which the Oakley crew was thankful and stoked to be a part of. Heartfelt thanks go out to all the men and women who continue to serve us daily. Through the stories you shared, all of the hard work, dedication, and sacrifices were definitely felt and deeply appreciated.
