Oakley Blade Boardshort Launch Event

As Oakley’s surf-athletes and party-goers descended on the
Oakley Blade Boardshort Launch Party at The Shore in San Clemente, CA, media filtered in to see the boardshort that demonstrates Oakley’s relentless drive to make things better.

Oakley surf shredders, Sebastian Zietz, Billy Stairmand, Adam Melling, Tommy Whitaker and Brent “Brenno” Dorrington, who just won his first competition at the ASP 6-Star O’Neill Coldwater Classic Scotland in mid-April, unwound from competing in the Nike 6.0 Lowers Pro at the Oakley Blade Launch Party May 4th.

Full of Blade praise, Tommy Whitaker, quickly declared how killer the boardshorts are, but ultimately wanted to share his gratitude.

“All I have to say is thank you to all of the amazing designers at Oakley that made this unbelievable boardshort. I’m serious. It makes surfing that much more enjoyable in every way. So, for always pushing the limits, creating masterpieces and kicking ass, thank you Oakley.”

The mannequins were flaunting the distinct Blade set up, which is what makes these boardshorts so easy to gawk at. The inner compression short improves muscle awareness, focus and recovery, and the outer element has unbeatable technology, and both work together as one.

“It’s more than a boardshort, it’s a tool. Thanks to Oakley boardshort designer, Lawrence Quigley, spending so much time on this invention in and out of the water, Oakley has engineered a superior boardshort,” said Jeff Baillargeo, men’s global surf, golf and training manager.
