2011 Drake Relays
The one hundred and second running of the Drake Relays Track and Field Championships was held this past weekend at Drake Stadium in Des Moines, Iowa. On Tuesday evening the Rolling O Lab was on hand for the legendary Blue Mile, a pedal to the metal, one mile sprint race held on Grand Ave in Des Moines beautiful downtown district. Thousands of participants of all ages ran the mile in the name of health and fitness. Elite category race winners were awarded a custom pair of blue Half Jackets.
The Rolling O Lab relocated to Drake Stadium for the Relays. The Drake Relays serve as a proving ground for elite high school and NCAA athletes dreaming of Olympic stardom.
The weather was spectacular, with bright sunshine and low humidity; perfect conditions for this world-class event. In the middle of the stadium stood the awards stage, which was dressed in the iconic black Oakley logo with white background. Outside the Stadium, the National Rolling O Lab gave testament to the high level of competition and sport inside the stadium by revealing the undeniable advantages of Oakley’s HDO optics. Winners of the men’s and women’s competitions were awarded a pair of custom Drake Relay Flak Jackets and Half Jackets respectively.
This was an incredible event, and Rolling O Lab wishes the best of luck to all who participated. We hope to see you next summer in London!
