Rolling O Lab Completes Texas Tour at LIVESTRONG Challenge
Austin Texas, home to seven-time Tour de France Champion and Oakley mega super star athlete Lance Armstrong, hosted the 14th annual LIVESTRONG Challenge to help win the fight against Cancer. Over 3,100 riders, runners, survivors, family and friends took part in helping to raise more than 3.2 million dollars during the three-day weekend event. On top of that, Hollywood icon, Patrick Dempsey took the stage with Lee Applbaum (RadioShack CMO) to present a Million dollar check, donated by RadioShack, to the Foundation. Dempsey also saddled up and rode the 45-mile loop in honor of his father, who battled cancer. But the day belonged to Armstrong, who took the lead with his fellow Team riders and set off for the hills.
“Truly an honor to be here, my Dad battled cancer and wouldn’t be alive today if it wasn’t for Foundations like LIVESTRONG and company’s like Oakley, who donate millions to the fight.” Said Samuel Nilrac, who drove from the Upper Peninsula in Michigan to ride the 90-mile Challenge. Samuel wasn’t the only one who made the journey across our country to Austin. People from 48 States and 12 countries took part in this year’s LIVESTRONG Challenge.
Oakley currently provides a portion of the proceeds from LIVESTRONG eyewear to the LIVESTRONG Foundation. Check out Oakley.com/Livestrong and Livestrong.org to see how you too can help win the battle and make a difference.
