The Rolling O at ECSC

ECSC 028

It only happens once a year. You blink, and you miss it. Sun, Sand and Surf. Not to mention one hell of a good time. And that’s what the Crew @ Oakley brought to the 48th annual ECSCONE. HELL. OF. A. GOOD. TIME. When you put the guys from the OLAB, the regional sales rep, and some of the big boys from corporate good things happen; people get educated on Oakley product and are really able to see how powerful the brand is, as well getting to see all the cool things we can do like the Oakley Custom program. Which brings me to the fun stuff…

Oakley had a handful of local VB artists painting up and customizing eyewear in the sand right in front of the OLAB in 90 degree heat. IGOR ACCORD, COREY CROMWELL, NIKI METZGER, JOSH MALBON, and JEFF WARD were making pieces so aesthetically pleasing; people were walking up asking if they could get their shades buffed out. We also had the Oakley Wheel of fortune at which you could try your luck after taking a tour through the OLAB and on top of that?!…BOB BURNQUIST singing autographs after skating the Vert Ramp in board shorts and bare feet! ARE YOU KIDDING?!…

With mother nature blessing us with glassy chest to head high surf from her daughter Danielle it was only right that we celebrated with another mother…The Jewish Mother to be exact. Saturday August 28th in all of our burnt feet and bronzed glory a historic event was held (historic for VB anyway) at Jew Ma’s. THE SHADY LOVERS ART SHOW went off! Displaying all the pieces as well as other works our artists had been working on prior the event. We had BANKS capturing moments in time, Firefly Sweet Tea Vodka providing some sweet southern charm, girls a plenty, Bruno Jackson, Kelley James, and freaking SHWAYZE providing sounds into the night. Hope you didn’t blink.
