Oakley’s Rolling O Lab Invades X Games 16

The Oakley Rolling O Lab dominated the scenery at Summer X Games 16 this Summer: Undoubtedly the biggest action sports event of the year. Once again, the lab was in a prime spot at X Fest at LA Live, properly placed across from the Staples Center and behind the Street Skate course.

X Games fans and enthusiasts were treated to an amazing three days with Oakley, as some of Oakley’s biggest Team Riders stopped by the O Lab to spend time and sign autographs for their fans. First up was Ryan Sheckler, one of the biggest and most recognizable stars of the Games. He looked to make up for the injury plagued 2009 X Games by snatching Gold in the Skateboard Street contest this year. Sheckler didn’t disappoint his fans either, as he signed autographs for X goers at the Lab for well over the allotted hour time slot.

Up next was a trio of Oakley’s killer Freestyle Motocross riders. Mike Mason, Blake “Bilko” Williams and up and coming youngster Levi Sherwood (took silver in Moto X Freestyle) had the crowd buzzing during their autograph signing session.

Some of the O’s most awesome BMX personalities followed. Chase Hawk, who made his debut at the X Games this year, joined Oakley Teammate Josh Harrington in the Lab for media interviews and autograph signings of their own.

And lastly, one of the true pioneers of street skate, Bob Burnquist (gold in Skateboard Big Air Rail Jam, silver in Skateboard Big Air, bronze in the Vert competition) graced the fans with his presence as he brought his great sense of humor with him – joking with fans as he signed autographs and posed for pictures. Needless to say, hundreds of fans left the O Lab stoked as the athletes all signed Oakley posters with action shots.

All in all, the O Lab was a huge success as thousands of fans were educated on Oakley HDO Optics and the innovative technology behind Oakley eyewear.
