Foose Turns New Oakley Footwear Loose

Legendary car designer Chip Foose visited Oakley in Foothill Ranch last week to unveil his latest project: the Three Palms lifestyle shoe. A small army of Oakley employees greeted Foose as he sat and signed the Three Palms box decorated with an original piece of Foose artwork.

Foose, who appeared on 87 episodes of “Overhaulin’” on The Discovery Channel, is a longtime friend of Oakley (as evidenced by his very popular Signature Series Jupiter sunglasses). So when the company decided to develop a motorsports-inspired lifestyle shoe that personifies the gas-burning, pedal-to-the-metal Oakley attitude, it knew exactly who to call. The result of Oakley’s collaboration with Foose is the Three Palms—a salute to the road and to Chip, the man whose influence has breathed new life into automotive design since the day he picked up a pencil and started to sketch.

“I do consider Oakley to be one of the best design teams on the planet,” he said.

Three Palms will be available to the general public in August.
