Oakley Customers Contribute $5 Million to LIVESTRONG®
Oakley, Inc. announced that through the sale of Oakley LIVESTRONG™ sunglasses and prescription frames, customer contributions have exceeded $5 million to LIVESTRONG, the organization founded by cancer survivor and champion cyclist Lance Armstrong to inspire and empower people affected by cancer. With each sale of LIVESTRONG eyewear, Oakley contributes $20 to the foundation in support of its mission. Oakley’s charitable work with the foundation began in 2007 and continues today with a full line of special edition LIVESTRONG eyewear that allows customers to show their support for the cause.
“When I was diagnosed with advanced testicular cancer nearly 14 years ago, I was without health insurance. But I was lucky that Oakley added me to their plan,” said Armstrong. “Thanks to that move I was able to receive the treatment that saved my life. Oakley’s generosity didn’t stop there. Their continued support is a shining example of outstanding corporate responsibility. I am grateful for their generous contribution to LIVESTRONG and to this day, my family and I remain on Oakley’s insurance plan.”

Oakley’s LIVESTRONG collection includes renditions of Oakley Jawbone, Radar®, M Frame®, Flak Jacket® / Flak Jacket XLJ, and Straight Jacket® sport performance sunglasses; Scalpel™ and Fuel Cell™ lifestyle sunglasses; and Wingspan™ and Transistor™ prescription eyewear frames. LIVESTRONG editions are rendered in yellow and black (the colors of the foundation) and have the foundation name laser-etched near the edge of the lens.
In addition to offering an expanding line of LIVESTRONG eyewear, Oakley.com/LIVESTRONG hosts an online “Memorial and Dedication Wall” that allows customers to honor and celebrate family and friends affected by cancer. Since its inception, more than 1,500 customers have contributed to the message board.
