The O Lab Keeps Pace with the OC Marathon
After skipping over the pond and back for a tour down under, the O Lab was happy to be back in the states for this year’s OC Marathon. An estimated 13,000 people participated across four categories – the full, half, 5k, and kid’s race. The beautiful course features several Orange County landmarks as the full course runs through Corona Del Mar, the Back Bay, The Orange County Performing Arts Center, South Coast Plaza, and the OC Fair and Event Center.
The Lab was set up inside the convention center for the two days leading up to this years’ marathon. As participants came to pick up their race packets, they were welcomed in to the Lab to see first hand why a majority of the world’s top athletes choose Oakley’s High Definition Optics. Rock and Road Cyclery even set up in front of the O Lab for anyone’s last minute sunglass needs. With the event taking place in Oakley’s backyard, many were familiar with the O but not with patented technology that places Oakley at the head of the eyewear pack.
After everyone had their numbers and were home resting for the big day, the lab was repositioned outside, just yards from the finish line. As family and friends waited for runners to finish, many came through the Lab and in turn brought their runners back just in case they didn’t get a chance to see what Oakley had to offer in the days prior.
With perfect running conditions, we couldn’t have asked for a better day. It was great to see so much of the Oakley family out for the festivities – both runners and supporters alike. Full race results are available at RunRaceResults.com.
