Oakley Learn to Ride Event at Infineon Raceway

On Thursday, December 17th, Oakley brought its “Learn to Ride” program to Infineon Raceway in Sonoma and teamed up with Audi and their Audi Sportscar Experience to give celebrities an opportunity to drive the 2010 Audi R8 V10 on a real race track with Oakley professional drivers. Nick Cannon, Annalynne McCord (90210), Shaun Sipos (Melrose Place), Kate Voegele (Singer/One Tree Hill), Brittany Snow (Walks), Johnny Hensley (Nip Tuck), Candice Accola (Vampire Diaries) all came up to “Learn to Ride” with Oakley professional drivers Scott Pruett and Kelly Collins.

Celebrities and athletes were greeted at the Bardessono Hotel by an Oakley reception with DJ Nick Cannon where they danced the night away. On race day there were a lot of nerves as the celebrities got 1st glimpse of the 10 incredible Audi R8’s lined up in pit lane. Annalynne McCord said, “I love cars and going fast, thanks Oakley for giving me this opportunity.” As they all got behind the wheels and were getting instruction everyone was getting extremely competitive pushing each other faster and faster. Nick Cannon stated, " Oakley is always doing the coolest stuff, they are my family and I love participating." At the end of the day there were sad faces and a lot of questions on how and when each of them could come back and do this again.

Oakley’s Alternative Marketing Manager Jeremy McCassy said, “This event was one of our best in our ‘Learn To Ride’ program as it is the pinnacle of what we are trying to achieve, giving opportunities and experiences that people will talk about forever."
