Rolling O Lab MotoGP in Misano, Italy
After a quick stop in Ferrara, the Rolling O left for Misano, where the 13th round of the MotoGP season was about to take place. Everybody was eagerly waiting for the duel between championship leader Valentino Rossi and Oakley’s Jorge Lorenzo, who was now just trailing 25 points behind after Rossi’s DNF in Indianapolis.
The Rolling O was located at the paddock entrance, just behind the Ducati hospitality. Everybody expected a cruel hot race after 37°C on setup day, but luckily the temperatures went down on the weekend with the sun still shining. Our two Italian training machines Filippo and Francesco kept the momentum from Ferrara going and educated the crowd on the superiority of HDO, giving hundreds of people a different perspective on eyewear technology and protection.
Everybody was anxiously waiting for Saturday afternoon, when Chris Vermeulen, Randy de Puniet and Nicky Hayden showed up at the Rolling O for a signing session. The fans came to meet their idols, and the riders had to sign almost everything they could write on – of course also the Rolling O’s Wall of Fame. The race saw Jorge Lorenzo finishing 2nd, keeping himself in the title race, with Oakley’s Andrea Dovizioso and Loris Capirossi taking 4th and 5th respectively. Unfortunately, Nicky Hayden fell victim to a crash between Colin Edwards and Alex de Angelis and could not finish the race.
Special thanks go to the entire crew on the Rolling O, Ryan & Arron for their support and Giovanni Balestra who made the signing session happen.
