Rolling O Lab hits Florida
Sprawled out on a piece of shared Orlando parking space between the world famous Ron Jon Surf Shop and outdoorsmen’s mecca Bass Pro, the crew of the O-lab threw down countless presentations educating not only the store’s respective sales forces but hundreds of interested customers as well. With Oakley swag raffled off every half hour and a free gift with purchase, Oakley brand awareness was the highest that section of Orlando has ever seen. Finishing into the evening with another successful stop and a birthday, to celebrate the crew later rolled out in true O-Lab fashion with the help of our personal Orlando tour guide Jack Blodgett to explore some of downtown’s finest late night establishments.
Following the incredible Orlando experience, the crew became faced with the daunting task of pulling a 9:00 to 6:00 work day in Cocoa Beach straight through to a nonstop drive north to New York City. Luckily, Oakley surf legend Rich Rudolph stepped in and offered to alleviate some pre-trip angst by giving us a taste of Florida offshore fishing aboard the “Beach Bum” prior to our final Florida stop. Seas were high and wind was cranking but hunting fish by sight in these less than ideal conditions proved to be a great testament to the superior performance of Oakley HDO Polarized fishing lens technology. I didn’t get the name “Eagle Eye” for the winged critter I managed to reel in earlier that day.
With our sea legs back to normal and some delicious Triple Tail in our bellies we threw down yet another day of awe inspiring, performance proving HDO presentations. The Ron Jon Flagship store in Cocoa Beach attracted spring breakers and locals by the hundreds and the O-Lab set the new standard for promo-day eyewear sales.
