Final Day of Oakley Media Week
The final day for global media to mingle with Oakley staff, athletes and learn about HDO started on the west side of the city at the Javits Center. For the past three years Oakley has utilized the Rolling O Labs to further educate buyers and consumers at the number one eyewear trade show in North America – Vision East.
After a relaxing breakfast, everyone was shuttled over to the Javits Center to receive VIP tours of the Rolling O Lab which highlighted Oakley’s HDO and Polarized technologies. Before walking out of the Javits each media was able to pick from an ample selection of Oakley Square O or Uniquely Polarized sunglasses.
Then it was off to lunch at Zoe’s in SoHo where everyone discussed the week’s great events and the latest in the sports world. To top off the day properly, everyone was given a $500 gift card to the Oakley “O Store” in SoHo for a shopping spree and a 25% off for anything purchased after that $500. Needless to say the shopping madness ensued and all media walked back to the Thompson LES very happy.
That night Oakley’s Alternative Marketing put on a party to end all parties with the brand taking over the enormous Penthouse at the Rivington Hotel. Athlete, media and staff alike broke it down on the dance floor until the early morning hours. Kelley James was the main attraction that night playing with his brother, also making appearances was Lil John and Josh Madden.
“Alternative Marketing wanted to support PR’s global initiative with an event that complimented their already stellar showing in NYC,” stated Jeremy McCassy, Alternative Marketing Manager. “Therefore we chose NYC hotspot Penthouse on Rivington where the crowd was entertained by Oakley artist Kelley James and DJ’s Kiss, Josh Madden and Lil Jon.”
To state Oakley Global Media Week was a success would be an understatement; the media and the “Lower East Side” were blown away by Oakley’s presence, message and products.
