One of the most colorful MLB Flak Jacket’s has to be the Detroit Tigers orange frames with blue socks and icons. These glasses pop on the players when they are wearing them on the field, check out the photos.

This year you will see four different Tiger All-Stars wearing Oakley eywear on the field, including future hall-famer Gary Sheffield, former AL batting champion Magglio Ordonez, hard hitting Venezuelan Carlos Guillen and a second baseman who did not commit a single error, hit .341 with 200 hits and 105 runs scored in 2007, Placido Polanco.

In addition to the players, manager Jim Leyland of the Detroit Tigers has been a long time supporter of Oakley since his days of managing the NL Divisional Champion Pittsburg Pirates in the early and mid 1990s. Not one for super flashy eyewear, Leyland prefers the light and comfortable fit of the Oakley Fives.

Once again Oakley had a phenomenal presence, this time in Lakeland, FL the Oakley banner was on the outfield wall, Rolling O Lab was parked in the main lot, the MLB eyewear line was sold on-site and Kyle Donahue of the Rolling O Lab threw out the first pitch.

After the game a few of the players came out to the truck to learn more about Oakley’s High Definition Optics. The players were most impressed by the impact test, but learned about the importance of different lens tints when playing in the ever changing conditions of day games throughout the MLB season.
