Rolling O Goes to Daytona 500

Shortly after the Phoenix Open, the O Lab drove east along beautiful US 10 toward Daytona Beach, home of the Great American Race, the Daytona 500. We had an amazing spot held for us in the coveted Corporate Hospitality area near the infield lake. Throughout the week we watched professional drivers burn around the world famous, two and a half mile superspeedway. Oakley driver Juan Pablo Montoya and crew toured the Lab and watched the Truck Series race on Friday night from the highest perch around, the O lab crows nest.

Coors Light provided us with a couple kegs to get the party started and it lasted right through the premature ending of the 500 which was cut short due to rain. Matt Kenseth won Sunday’s Daytona 500 despite starting in the rear of the field. Tony Stewart rallied back from a crash to win the NASCAR National Series race on Saturday.

This was the first NASCAR event this O lab crew had ever been to, and it won’t be the last. It was an awesome experience that won’t soon be forgotten. A huge thanks goes out to Todd Hayes and Sheldon O’Connell of Oakley’s racing division for all their help making this O lab event the success it was.
